If 2020 hasn’t been scary enough, Halloween is right around the corner. Face masks have been this year’s unexpected fashion accessory. They keep us safe and let us socialize with friends and family. During Halloween, you can take mask-wearing up a notch by sporting your favorite costume with friends and staying protected. While some cities are experiencing a quick cool down into the winter months, Southern California is just as sunny and warm as ever. Luckily, that means that it’s easy to stay outdoors and soak up all of the fun that Halloween has to offer. Painting faces, enjoying candy, dressing up, and carving pumpkins are all a part of the fall fun. Despite the twists and turns we’ve experienced this year, Carlsbad is ready to serve up the haunts and happenings we’ve waited for all summer. If you’re looking for a fun and safe way to experience fall fun during the pandemic, booking a stay at The Cassara Carlsbad or Sheraton Carlsbad Resort, visiting the Carlsbad Strawberry Company’s Pumpkin Patch, and checking out LEGOLAND’s Miniland USA are a few great ways to do just that.
Carlsbad hotels and resorts are some of the best places to kick back, relax, and have fun. During Halloween, The Cassara Carlsbad, Tapestry Collection by Hilton and the Sheraton Carlsbad Resort have guest rooms full of treats and have introduced bewitching getaways that are perfect for families looking for a safe holiday vacation. Some of the special Halloween treats include:
For an especially wicked good time, guests can ride the resorts’ free shuttle to the Carlsbad Pumpkin Patch. The shuttle runs daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Both resorts also offer convenient access to LEGOLAND’s Miniland USA.
No Tricks, Just Treats Halloween packages are now available for reservations October 5th through November 8th at The Cassara Carlsbad and October 25 through November 8th at the Sheraton Carlsbad Resort.
Nothing says ‘Happy Halloween’ like a good jack-o-lantern. Whether you carve up a crazy smile with missing teeth, a scary grimace, or leave your pumpkin blank—pumpkins are the cornerstone of fall decor. Exploring the pumpkin patch to find just the right one is a relaxing way to express yourself while letting your little ghouls expend some energy. During October, the Carlsbad Strawberry Company Pumpkin Patch is the place to go for pumpkins, photo ops, tractor rides, and more.
From now until November 8th, the Pumpkin Patch will be open from 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. Admission is $5 and children under the age of 5 are free. Guests can take their time wandering among hundreds of giant pumpkins to find the perfect fall backdrop for pictures. Every weekend, the Patch also offers tractor rides. The ride takes guests on an open-air lap around the property, lagoon, and highway. This year, the Pumpkin Patch is also debuting a brand-new experience that is completely unique to Southern California – the Apple Cannon. The Patch’s cannon is the only one of its type in Southern California. It can sling apples as fast as 100 mph and for only $20.00, you can shoot a bucket of 12 apples at targets spread throughout the fields. If you are sharp enough to hit the bell on the tractor, you can even win a free t-shirt.
For kids who love dressing up, LEGOLAND’s Miniland U.S.A. is another fun-filled option. These fall festivities are a great way to celebrate Halloween with your family. Costumes, treats, and outdoor games are all in the mix for this year’s Halloween bash. The park is requiring tickets to be purchased in advance and safety measures such as cashless payment options, social distancing, and meet-and-greets with masked characters will be in place to ensure the health and safety of all. Families can enjoy the Halloween decor scattered throughout the park, embrace the spooky outdoor fun of a scavenger hunt, and compete in creepy LEGO building challenges. There will also be individually packaged goodie bags full of Halloween candy. Purchase a ticket now to reserve your spot from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. on Fridays, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. on Saturdays, and 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Sundays.
