From short runs to marathons, as well as one of the world’s longest running triathlons, the whole community comes out in support. And with unmatched venues and weather, Carlsbad has also become home to several professional golf and tennis tournaments.
The Carlsbad 5000 features a fast and fun seaside course where 16 world records have been set. Both rookie runners and serious speedsters alike enjoy running or walking in one of seven people’s races.

Carlsbad Triathlon ranks in the World's top 5 Longest Running triathlons. It is a sprint distance race, consisting of a 1K open-water ocean Swim, 25K Bike and 5K Run.
The KIA Classic presented by J Golf is a four-day, 72-hole stroke play competition, preceded by a one-day, 18-hole Pro-Am and will be attended by 114 LPGA professionals.
Created in 2004, the series — which has seen its television viewership double since its introduction — serves as a sort of summer season of hard court tennis leading to the final Grand Slam of the year at La Costa Resort & Spa.
