Dine and Discover the Alley Art Wall
The Carlsbad Alley Art Wall was created in 2022 and consists of 17 murals, all created by different artists. Right in the heart of Carlsbad Village, the wall is located on the corner of the Tyler Street Alley and 550 Grand Ave. The murals are an incredible display of artistic styles, vibrant colors and subject matter. From abstract patterns and bold typography to lifelike portraits, the wall highlights the diverse voices and talents of the artists, making it a must-visit on your mural art tour.

Grab a Coffee and a “Catnap”
“Catnap” located outside of Witch Creek Winery, was created by Oceanside artist Michael Summers. This stunning and grand mural is a hotspot for selfies and inspired the opening of Sleeping Tiger Coffee, located within the winery. The café was named after the sleeping tigers on the colorful mural located just outside the building! We recommend picking up a freshly brewed coffee with one of their house-made syrups before heading outside to admire the nearly 18-foot-tall mural.

Village Faire Shopping Center Murals
Three artists are behind the new beautiful murals at Village Faire Shopping Center. Ira Cosmos, Bobbie Harrington and Cheryl Ehlers are the accomplished artists from North Coastal Art Gallery that created the five murals now on the walls of the shopping center. Bringing a splash of color that reminds visitors of the beauty of the ocean and Carlsbad, the murals are the perfect backdrop for a photo! After taking a look at the murals, pop into the North Coastal Art Gallery to admire some of the rotating exhibits.
There are more than wall murals at the shopping center, recently a temporary chalk art project has been unfolding. Five renowned local and regional chalk artists have been working to create 4-by-4-foot murals inspired by the theme “Final Days of Summer”. You’re in luck because now through Sept.14, 2025, the phenomenal chalk murals will be on display for you to stop by and see. Make it a date and grab a coffee or some gelato and be sure to visit all the murals in the courtyard.
