A Valentine’s Week to Remember: Hearts of Carlsbad Village 2026
Celebrate love and join the fun during Hearts of Carlsbad, happening Feb. 7–14. Explore the charming Carlsbad Village and enjoy special events for your chance to receive your very own one-of-a-kind glass heart.
One of the things that makes Carlsbad special is its close-knit community of artisans and creatives, who bring extra imagination to every holiday. Hearts of Carlsbad Village is one of those beloved traditions, returning this year from Feb. 7–14.
Hosted by the Carlsbad Village Association, the event has brought the community together over the past five years. Initially created during the pandemic, the event aims to spark connection while encouraging locals and visitors to discover the many shops, restaurants and experiences in the Village in hopes of finding a colorful glass heart.
With themed events and even curated hotel packages, there are plenty of ways to take part in the fun. Participants may even walk away with one of the coveted glass hearts that will be a unique keepsake to remember Valentine’s Day of 2026.
How to Participate
This year there will be 600 handcrafted glass hearts created by local glass art studio, Barrio Glassworks, that are up for grabs. Join in the scavenger hunt, donate blood or participate in another one of the events during the week to get your very own gorgeous glass heart.
Each of the events has been designed to celebrate community, kindness and local businesses. This year you’ll have the chance to search for hearts on multiple days! From Feb. 7–13 you can choose to explore the Village by checking out some of the quintessential boutiques or even dine at the local culinary hot spots. A total of 250 hearts will be hidden in plain sight during standard business hours, waiting to be found by you. Stay tuned for daily themes, hints and tips on the event page to help guide you along with your search.
Pay a visit to the Carlsbad Farmers Market on Feb. 11 for an Acts of Kindness Giveaway from the Carlsbad Village Association. From delicious local produce to handmade goods, you’ll have plenty of fun meandering through the market. You may even find yourself surprised with your very own glass heart, as team members from the association will be handing them out at random at the market.
On Valentine’s Day you’ll be able to register for one of the 250 scavenger hunt cards that will lead you on a 90-minute Village-wide adventure. It’s the perfect date activity to celebrate the day of love and you’re guaranteed to receive a glass heart when you complete the hunt. Keep in mind that only registered participants will be able to pick up the scavenger hunt.
Extend the Celebration with a Village Stay
Make a vacation out of the occasion and book yourself a Valentine’s stay in Carlsbad Village.
