The 20|Twenty Grill at the Westin Carlsbad Resort & Spa is celebrating Mother’s Day with a delicious brunch buffet, including a build-your-own bouquet flower station and a $30 gift certificate to the Ocean Pearl Spa for every attendee. The menu features an array of mouth-watering options, including chef-attended savory stations offering herb-roasted porchetta, marinated chateaubriand and citrus maple smoked Verlasso salmon. Other options include grilled parmesan asparagus, garlic herb fingerling potatoes, lemon roasted sea bass with fennel and more. Finish off your meal with an assortment of signature sweets such as mini cakes, freshly baked cookies and brownies, 20|Twenty signature panna cotta, signature vegan pistachio nougat cake, chocolate-covered strawberries and a hand-scooped ice cream sundae bar.

The children’s menu offers buttermilk pancakes, scrambled eggs, macaroni and cheese, chicken tenders, potato puffs, and breakfast sausage.

OMNI LA COSTA RESORT & SPA

The Omni La Costa Resort & Spa has several special events planned to help celebrate all weekend long. On Saturday, May 13, you can treat your family to an elegant afternoon tea party, complete with live music, petite treats, a custom floral bouquet and card making session. At the tea party, indulge in a variety of tea sandwiches, as well as assorted scones and pastries like fruit tarts, mini-croissants, sweet treats and chocolate-dipped strawberries.

On Sunday, May 14, there will be a special Mother’s Day brunch featuring an expertly crafted menu by Executive Chef John Beriker and his team. You can indulge in a wide range of dishes from the salad bar, the griddle and the entrée section. The dishes include assorted imported and domestic cheese, roasted beets salad, summer roasted squash, roasted salmon, beer braised short rib, herb roasted chicken breast and many more. Moms can also enjoy live music and take pictures in a family photo booth.

PARK HYATT AVIARA

Head over to the Park Hyatt Aviara to treat your mom to an unforgettable Mother’s Day celebration and enjoy a range of resort offerings. The California Salon will be offering a lavish Mother’s Day brunch from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm, including an iced seafood display with jumbo shrimp cocktail on ice, chipotle cocktail sauce and remoulade. There will be platters of cured meats and California handcrafted salumi, as well as a selection of maki sushi and sashimi, an American farmhouse cheese display and smoked fish platters. There will be a cold buffet, a hot buffet and a carving station, with a pastries and verrines section to round everything out.

Ember & Rye will also be hosting a Mother’s Day brunch from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm. This one includes a similar menu of delights, including smoked fish platters, platters of cured meats and California handcrafted salumi, cold and hot buffets, an American farmhouse cheese display, omelet station, breakfast treats, pastries and carved dishes by a chef. Other dishes include BLT benedict, Alaskan halibut, grilled lamb loin, roasted asparagus & wild mushrooms, raspberry tart, tuna wellington and smoked prime rib.

Pricing is $140 per person for the California Salon and $155 per person for Ember & Rye, with a $60 charge per child (ages 3-12) for both venues.

CHANDLER’S OCEANFRONT DINING AT CAPE REY CARLSBAD BEACH

For a coastal celebration, make your way to Chandler’s Oceanfront Dining at Cape Rey Carlsbad Beach. They will be offering a Prix Fixe menu with three courses served from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at a cost of $50 for adults. Kids can also enjoy an à la carte menu. In addition to the delicious meal, festive family activities will be available out on the terrace and lawn. Activities include building a flower crown for Mom, face painting, photo booth, bubble station and more.

Starters will include an assortment of pastries and fruit delivered to your table for sharing, followed by a choice of entree and dessert, making each three-course brunch as unique as Mom is. Every mother will be treated to a complimentary Mimosa to celebrate on her special day.

Chandler’s Oceanfront Dining is also offering an early breakfast buffet from 7:00 am to 9:00 am at a cost of $30 for adults and $20 for children 12 & under. The regular dinner menu will be served from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm, with live music on the Sunset Terrace from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm for enjoying a sunset with Mom.

THE CROSSINGS AT CARLSBAD – CANYONS RESTAURANT

Canyons Restaurant at The Crossings at Carlsbad is another great Mother’s Day brunch option this year. With live music, bottomless mimosas and prices starting at just $39 for kids, it’s a celebration the whole family will love.

The Mother’s Day menu includes baked brie en croute, chilled shrimp cocktail, seasonal fresh fruit, and a variety of salads, including an antipasto salad and a fresh spring salad. The carving and action stations feature slow-roasted prime rib, maple brown sugar-cured Atlantic salmon, rosemary garlic pepper-crusted leg of lamb and made-to-order eggs benedict. The main buffet features pan-seared airline chicken breast with trio peppercorn pan sauce, vegetable pasta bake with parmesan garlic cream, roasted herb pee wee potatoes and roasted brussel sprouts and carrots. The kids’ station will have mini pancakes, chicken bites, mac & cheese and tater tots. And last but not least, the dessert station includes an assortment of mini petit fours, cakes, cookies and brownies and assorted breakfast pastries.

VIGILUCCI’S CUCINA ITALIANA

Vigilucci’s Cucina Italiana will be offering a special Mother’s Day Weekend Lunch Menu for a midday feast on Saturday May 13 and Sunday May 14, from 11:30 am – 2:30 pm. Guests can also enjoy the dinner menu all day throughout the weekend. The lunch menu includes a soup of the day with a choice of insalata mista or insalata cesare, cesare con pollo o calamari fritti, insalata con salmone, spaghetti all’ amatriciana, penne del fattore, spaghetti ai gamberetti, pollo piccata and pollo al marsala. They also have a kids holiday menu with several choices like fettuccine alfredo and spaghetti polpette.

The dinner menu, available from Friday, May 12 – Sunday, May 14, includes antipasto, insalata, and la pasta.

SEASONS RESTAURANT

To celebrate Mother’s Day in style, visit Seasons Restaurant on Sunday, May 14 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. There will be a delicious à la carte brunch menu prepared by Chef de Cuisine Jerade Hill. Show your appreciation for Mom with a specially crafted cocktail called “Mom-mosa” and indulge in brunch specials like the sunnyside breakfast pizza and poached Maine lobster roll. Guests can also enjoy live music from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm while dining in luxury.

CARLSBAD VILLAGE

And when it comes to Mother’s Day in Carlsbad, brunch isn’t the only activity on the menu. On Saturday, May 13, Carlsbad Village is hosting a Mother’s Day Sip and Shop event. You can start your day off at the Village Florist Co. where the first 100 ladies will receive a complimentary long stem rose, followed by a Mother’s Day Scavenger Hunt through the Village. Completed scavenger hunt answers can enter for a chance to win prizes, and participants can enjoy a complimentary mimosa and charcuterie cup at The Chandelier Room once they’re done.

The Chandelier Room will feature a variety of “Mom-inspired” vendors, including Link x Lou permanent jewelry and J&W Gems beaded jewelry and custom hats. There will be a selfie station to capture the special day with loved ones.

THE FLOWER FIELDS AT CARLSBAD RANCH

Enjoy Mother’s Day and the final week of the season at The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch. This year, the season has been extended to Sunday, May 21. This will be the last chance to see the flowers in full bloom this season and is a perfect opportunity to show appreciation for all the wonderful mothers in your life.

You can enjoy the vibrant and colorful performances of the Rancho Buena Vista High School’s Ballet Folklorico throughout the day. This cultural dance group will provide a feast for the senses with their colorful and lively performances.

HANDLED POTTERY STUDIO

And lastly, if you’re looking for a hands-on activity you can treat your mother to is a handbuilding workshop to create beautiful pottery pieces to take home. Handled Pottery Studio is holding a two-hour workshop, open to individuals aged 14 and up with a paid adult. The fee of $110 covers the cost for two people and includes instruction, tools, clay and firing. Lite bites will also be provided during the workshop. All materials will be provided, so all you need to bring is an old towel and wear clothes and sneakers that can get dirty.

The Mother’s Day weekend workshop is available on Saturday, May 13 from 2pm to 4pm and Sunday, May 14 from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm. You’ll be able to pick up your pottery pieces three weeks from the event.
