As Carlsbad Village gears up for Small Business Saturday 2023 on November 25, it's important to understand the overall impact of this day and the value of supporting our local entrepreneurs and their businesses. The Carlsbad Village Association (CVA) created this “Shop Small” annual event to bring Carlsbad Village’s small business community into the spotlight with approximately $1,500 in drawing opportunities this year. Nearly every locally-owned store will participate. Attendees can look forward to a whole day of exciting opportunities and giveaways, including:

A chance to win gift cards from various local restaurants and retail stores, courtesy of the CVA and generous Village businesses.

A grand prize draw for selfie enthusiasts, featuring a stay at the picturesque Beach Terrace Inn.

Complimentary tote bags and exclusive Carlsbad merchandise, available while supplies last.

The celebration begins at 11:00 am and continues until 4:00 pm, with the CVA booth at Grand Ave. and State Street serving as the epicenter for information and free drawing tickets. Adding to the festive atmosphere, award-winning pianist Robert Parker will set the mood with holiday tunes from noon to 3:00 pm.

Public parking is plentiful in the Village, and the beach is only two blocks away- make a day of it with the entire family. Discover and support the many casual and fine dining establishments as well as charming boutiques, salons and galleries all day long!

The Small Business Saturday concept was first introduced by American Express in 2010 as a way to put small businesses in the spotlight after the 2008 financial crisis. Small Business Saturday, now in its 13th year, provides an opportunity for the community to make a difference this month and through the remainder of the year. Every coffee purchased from a local cafe, every gift bought from a boutique and every meal ordered from a local eatery contributes to what makes Carlsbad Village a wonderful place to be!

Saturday, November 25 gives Carlsbad a chance to show gratitude to the Village businesses that shape the city’s character and make it a delightful place to visit and to call home.
