Springtime Magic at The Flower Fields 2026
More than just rolling hills of vibrant blooms, The Flower Fields features an array of activities and attractions that will have you feeling the spring vibes in no time.
The Flower Fields have returned for the 2026 season and will be open from March 1 to May 10. This inspiring landscape made up of 80 million flowers is the ideal spot for getting in the springtime spirit. From whimsical family-friendly activities to unique events including floral crafts, yoga and live music, there is something for everyone at this iconic Carlsbad attraction.
Your Guide to The Flower Fields Attractions
While the 55 acres of flowers are a sight to behold, there are numerous attractions scattered around the Flower Fields which are not to be missed. Pay special attention to the photo opportunity spots located all around the fields. From benches within the blooms that provide the perfect floral backdrop, to the giant beach chairs in the Illusion Garden, there is no shortage of picture spots.
Butterfly lovers will be overjoyed at the Butterfly Encounter which houses hundreds of live butterflies. You can purchase a ticket for this experience after your arrival to The Flower Fields and then head to the greenhouse where you will have the opportunity to feed the butterflies with your very own nectar stick! This encounter is open seven days a week throughout the season, meaning you have plenty of time to get some great photos with these magical creatures.
New this year is the Pop-Up Market. This curated pop-up market will run from March 16 to May 10, and will be showcasing local artisans, specialty foods, gifts and other seasonal finds. You can check who will be at the market ahead of time on the website so that you know who to expect during your visit.
One of the best ways to take in the vastness of the fields is aboard one of the colorful tractors that roams through the rows of flowers. This relaxing tour is a great option for guests that may not be up for walking the entirety of the property to see the variety of blooms. The tractors can accommodate wheelchairs, electric wheelchairs as well as walkers, and run all day, every day. Tickets can be purchased for an additional fee, with children under three being free!
The little ones will love the Sweet Pea Maze, Santa’s Playground and Sluice Mining. They will have the chance to roam through the fragrant sweet pea blooms, escape to a world of whimsical playhouses and giant mushrooms, as well as find polished gemstones using the miner’s old method of sluicing through sand.
If you are a flower enthusiast, be sure to pay a visit to the Cymbidium Orchid Greenhouse and Historic Poinsettia Display, for fabulous displays of rare and unusual varieties of orchids and poinsettias.
Experience Curated Events at The Flower Fields
The activity calendar for this year is full of wellness events, sunset wine tastings, creative flower workshops and more!
Step into a moment of calm with Tai Chi at The Flower Fields. This event will be hosted in the mornings of March 22 and March 29, and will provide an introduction to the Yang Style 24-Form Tai Chi with guided step-by-step instruction. If you’re more interested in yoga, there are multiple opportunities to experience Vinyasa Yoga at Flower Flow Yoga events with the gorgeous flower fields as your backdrop. Whether you’re a seasoned yogi or looking to try something new with your friends, these classes will help you find your flow and relax.
Get crafty and learn how to make something new at one of the upcoming guided creative workshops. You could learn how to make your very own flower crown with local spring flowers or how to design a beautiful succulent arrangement for your spring tablescape! These workshops are a wonderful way to nurture your artistic talents and celebrate the season.
This year there are numerous dining experiences that would make a great romantic date night or setting for a fun outing with friends. Join for one of the Smoke on the Vine events hosted by Napatini Wine Bar, and enjoy an intimate evening featuring a four-course meal that has been expertly paired with wines from Rombauer Vineyards. You can also sip on a cup of tea and enjoy the tranquility of nature at a Tea in the Garden event, featuring delicious food and tea provided by The Grand Tea room.

Plan your Trip
The Flower Fields is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m., and will run through May 10. Tickets can be purchased onsite or in advance online! If you’re planning to make more than one trip, consider getting a season pass which includes unlimited visits during the 2026 season as well as unlimited wagon rides. If you are interested in any of the activities this season, be sure to reserve your ticket by purchasing online. Entrance to The Flower Fields is included in all of the activity tickets so that you can explore before or after the event. As for parking, there are numerous parking lot available for your visit but be sure to plan to get there early on busy weekend days.
