Your Guide to Carlsbad Village
Carlsbad Village is brimming with restaurants, shops, art all just moments from the beach. Its earliest years once attracted visitors to its mineral springs, and has since evolved into a multi-faceted destination for visitors and residents alike. Consider this your starting point for where to eat, stay, and how to play in Carlsbad Village.

Baba Coffee
Over the last decade, Baba Coffee has evolved from a cozy coffeehouse to a Carlsbad Village’s vibrant third space. Guests still enjoy a variety of espresso drinks, pastries, and sandwiches, as well as natural wine and craft beer. A rotating schedule of daytime and evening events often involve live music and guest chefs with Top Chef credentials. Its recently opened second floor wine lounge features large windows and an outdoor patio overlooking State Street. Their menu also offers vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.

Gelato Love
GelatoLove’s small batch gelato is the place to go for a cool treat with smooth textures and Italian and California-inspired flavors like Sicilian pistachio and Carlsbad strawberry. Its creamy scoops are made with allulose, a naturally occurring sugar found in fruits like kiwis and figs that’s slightly less sweet and lower in calories than traditional sugar. GelatoLove also serves non-dairy flavors like lemon sorbet and extra dark chocolate.
Little Victory Wine Bar
New to Carlsbad Village in 2025 is Little Victory Wine Bar. The petite space is modeled after European caves à manger, or wine shops where you can also enjoy food and wine on premise. Wine focuses on smaller producers from around the world, and food highlights hyperlocal produce and purveyors in seasonal dishes like artichoke pasta and braised octopus with black garlic among its cheese plates and tinned fish prepared in-house. Little Victory Wine Bar opens at 4pm Wednesday to Sunday.

Nick’s on State
Make a reservation at Nick’s on State for elevated New American classics and regional specialties (think meatloaf with maple chipotle gravy and San Francisco-inspired cioppino) in a relaxed, airly space with arched ceilings. An island bar anchors the dining room, which extends out onto its covered outdoor patio. Nick’s on State is open every day for lunch and dinner, and provides hot towel service upon request.
Pronto’s Market
Pronto’s Market is a one-stop shop for lunch, pre-made meals to go, wine, beer, and local food products like sweets from Chuao Chocolatier and coffee from Steady State Roasting. Pack a picnic for the beach with its selection of hot and cold sandwiches, wraps, salads and pastas like mushroom pesto ravioli or fettuccine Alfredo. Just be sure to stock up during the week— Pronto’s Market is closed on Saturday and Sunday.
Moke Rental
For a stylish and planet-friendly way to zip around Carlsbad Village, Carlsbad Moke Rental’s vintage looking electric vehicles are available to rent for parties of up to four. Each Moke is equipped with a back up camera, Bluetooth stereo capabilities and headlights for safe cruising after sunset. Three day weekend packages include delivery and overnight use.

Food Tours, Active Adventures, and More
Carlsbad Food Tours runs daily guided food tours that stop at various family-owned establishments in Carlsbad Village. Tours feature a leisurely stroll to six different restaurants, from Italian to Mediterranean cuisine, and doughnuts to craft beer.
