Casero Taqueria
Overview
Casero Taqueria is inspired by simple, time tested recipes rooted in Mexican tradition. After several surf trips to Baja California and visits to the mainland, co-founders Clayton Wheeler and Craig Applegate fell in love with the country's use of farm fresh ingredients to create flavorful dishes. Casero, meaning homemade in Spanish, brings their favorite regional Mexican food to North County San Diego. The menu features popular staples, including ceviche, pozole, and most notably tacos, which are made with house-ground corn tortillas, braised meats or grilled fish, and traditional toppings. With an authentic taqueria's atmosphere in mind, Casero's service is fast casual with an indoor-outdoor bar and a mercado, where guests can purchase the kitchen's ready-to-cook items for meals at home. The dining experience marries the sensation of a weekend in Baja with relaxed Southern California style.
