Omni La Costa Golf Courses
Overview
Omni La Costa Resort & Spa is a world-renowned, two-course destination. The South Course has always been a more player-friendly layout that stretches 6,996 yards from the tips. It’s a parkland style course that features mature trees, gentle doglegs, and water features on both nines. The last few holes on both nines strategically play into the ocean breeze off the Pacific. Guests can also navigate the course on a smooth-cruising Phat Golf Scooter, surf-style Golfboard to heighten the adventure and put some extra excitement into the round. The back nine – combined with nine holes from the North Course –hosted the PGA TOUR’s Tournament of Champions from 1969 – 1989. An award-winner for decades, the resort has received two prestigious Golf Digest Editors’ Choice Awards, being named among the “Best Resorts in the Americas”, the “Best Golf Schools and Academies", "Top 100 Courses You Can Play, GOLF.com" and will continue to host the NCAA Division 1 Championship through 2028.
The North Course was recently renovated by sought-after course architect Gil Hanse and includes six sets of tees playing from 4500 to 7500 yards. Hanse has made the layout slightly lower in the ground making it more connected to the landforms, relying more on native vegetation. The number of bunkers have been reduced and strategically placed distinctly different surrounds, and the fairways are now wider with more strategic approach angles. There are a wide combination of setup options, with different tee boxes, new playing angles and challenging hole locations.
