Kick off summer SoCal-style at Cape Reggae—a Carlsbad pool party celebrating North County’s beach culture, sunshine and reggae. Hosted at the luxurious Cape Rey Carlsbad Beach, this unforgettable evening features live music, craft beverage tastings and full access to the resort’s pool and jacuzzi.

5:00 PM — Doors Open + Pool Access with DJ ChapsOne

Slip into the pool or jacuzzi, soak in the sunset, and ease into the evening with chill grooves from DJ ChapsOne, a seasoned Oceanside producer with deep roots in SoCal’s hip-hop and reggae scenes. Enjoy a sampling of local craft beverages from Harland Brewing, Klub Kokomo (canned cocktails), Weir Beer, Smile (canned cocktails), Duckfoot Brewing, along with some wines.

7:30-8:30 PM — Ginger Roots

Ginger Roots is a reggae band from Encinitas, California, founded in 2012 by frontman Chase Brokaw.Blending solid roots drum and bass with catchy melodies, worldly lyrics, and a vibrant live energy, Ginger Roots continues to build momentum in the reggae scene.They’ve opened for legends like Burning Spear, Steel Pulse, Ziggy Marley, Julian Marley, Stephen Marley, Barrington Levy, and Don Carlos, performing for crowds as large as 20,000 in both full band and acoustic sets.In the studio, Ginger Roots has recorded at Bob Marley’s Tuff Gong studio in Jamaica and worked with legendary bassist/producer Fully Fullwood at The Kitchen Studio, where their first two albums were made.Their albums Don't Stop the Groove and Vibe Maker are available now, with a third studio release currently in the works.
