The newly renovated Museum of Making Music is a fun and informative museum that exists to inspire visitors to interactively discover the history of making music, instruments and the stories behind the music itself.
At the museum, you will travel through time, from 1900 to today, exploring the connections among people, instruments and the music we make. You will even make some music of your own on a whole new level through hands-on interactivity.

When you step into the Museum, you will discover an array of musical instruments, many of them displayed in vintage music store settings. You’ll have many hands-on opportunities to pick up and play a variety of instruments, hear some familiar tunes in audio and video clips and learn about the innovative ways that the music industry has evolved over the years.
Founded in 1998, the Museum of Making Music also celebrates the accomplishments and impact of the people who make, sell and use musical instruments and related products. These artists are celebrated through unique exhibitions, vibrant and varied live music performances and innovative educational programs.
