Breathe New Life into Your Vacation at Carlsbad by the Sea
Carlsbad is an old coastal village that dates back to the early 1800s. The fresh water creeks located throughout the city provided sustainable resources for native villages.
Carlsbad’s water has played a huge part in the town’s history, luring tourists and providing refreshment and healing to train travelers starting as early as 1880.
In addition to the natural attractions, the city of Carlsbad has a number of historic landmarks that offer glimpses into our city’s past. The Frazier’s Mineral Well, Twin Inns, Village, and Old Santa Fe Depot are all snapshots of the city’s history. Over the years, Carlsbad’s infrastructure has gradually transformed from an ‘old coastal village’ to a contemporary beach town with modern attractions and luxury resorts. However, the history that made it what it is today is still very present. Many of the modern updates to the town can be seen in the various resorts scattered along the coast. Carlsbad by the Sea Hotel is in the midst of some of these very renovations, taking the historic charm of the resort and transforming it into a true gem of modern luxury.
The hotel has over 140 spacious guest rooms, each with a private balcony or patio. That combined with the garden courtyard, outdoor heated pool, and jacuzzi make it an experience for every traveler.
Renovations at the hotel are well under way to give it a well-deserved face lift. The exterior boasts a new coat of paint on all of the buildings. The new color scheme is fresh and inviting, pairing seamlessly with the Danish-style Windmill landmark. The pool has been completely refurbished with new decking and fencing, and all of the pool furniture has been updated. The hotel’s HVACs and Wi-Fi have been upgraded for efficiency and is expected to complete renovations to the property’s meeting rooms by the end of the summer. The new meeting rooms will feature bright and open design schemes. Further down the line, the lobby will undergo a complete remodel that will introduce modern technology for a quick and inviting check-in.
In addition to the upgrades taking place at Carlsbad by the Sea Hotel, the iconic Windmill itself is undergoing a massive renovation as well. Construction crews are hard at work updating the foundation of the Windmill to transform it into an enormous Food Hall. The restoration project will breathe new life into the historic landmark and will host some of North County’s best culinary experiences. The Food Hall is tentatively scheduled to open in mid-April.
