Come out and volunteer with the AHLF to keep the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Watershed healthy and accessible. Trail and habitat volunteers remove invasive plants, plant native species, remove litter, improve trails, and help with other works as needed. Each event is led by experienced staff and volunteers, who oversee activities and lead participants. This work is dirty so come with appropriate clothes, closed-toe footwear, and sun protection. All the tools are provided, and garden experience is not necessary.

Solutions for Change is a nonprofit committed to solving family homelessness through our Solutions University program. This unique program is a 1,000-day partnership that equips families with the skills, knowledge, and resources that create amazing life transformations. It’s not just a housing solution, it’s a “change your life” solution. Our focus is creating strong, independent families that are capable of pursuing every opportunity they want in life, from raising a happy family, to creating a successful career, to buying a home and sending kids to college. Each adult in our program follows an individualized program crafted to meet his or her goals.
Solutions has two properties that need regular landscape maintenance. On Saturdays from 9:00 am – 11:00 am volunteers are needed to mow, weed, trim, and clean up around the Vista properties. Another opportunity is to volunteer during the week and help prepare homes for families. Volunteers must be 18 and older for this volunteer program.
Contact Karen Andersen at kandersen@solutionsforchange.org or (760) 941-6545, ext. 319 for more information on both volunteer opportunities.
